Meet the New Ford Explorer Lineup

The 2022 Ford Explorer lineup trim levels include—the base Explorer, Explorer XLT, Explorer ST-Line, Explorer Timberline, Explorer Limited, Explorer ST, and the Explorer King Ranch® and Platinum trims. The base Explorer starts with a 300 hp 2.3L turbocharged four cylinder engine.

Choose from three other powerful engines, including a hybrid powertrain, and the available 4WD with Terrain Management System™ with seven selectable drive modes that up your traction from the standard rear wheel drive.

With the larger 2022 Ford Explorer towing capacity—maximum 5,600 lbs—and standard Trailer Sway Control that selectively brakes and adjusts engine power to keep your trailer stable, you can relax with safer, less stressful towing.

Thoughtful Interior Design Changes

Changes in the 2022 Ford Explorer interior come in the form of a more intuitive design and a host of convenience features that make the ride more comfortable. An available Twin-Panel Moonroof lets in more of the great outdoors, including extra sunshine and amazing sky views.

Everyone will enjoy the SYNC® 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, available Navigation with Enhanced Voice Recognition, and an available 10.1-inch color LED touch screen with swipe and pinch-to-zoom capability.

The new 2022 Ford Explorer dimensions accommodate seating for seven, and with the available PowerFold® third-row seats, there’s more room for both passengers and cargo. Also new is the Explorer ST-Line trim, which boasts an ST-inspired look but is priced over $7,000 less than the Explorer ST.

The Southwest-inspired King Ranch trim and Platinum trim now come standard with a more powerful 400 hp V6 engine and top features that include heated leather seating, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a Technology Package with a 12-speaker B & O® Sound System by Bang & Olufsen.
